TWPAA Delegation Visits JIII and JIPII

On Tuesday, September 15, 2026, a delegation of nine members from the Taiwan Patent Attorneys Association (TWPAA), led by President Augustus C. P. Chin, visited our association. This marked their first visit since May 2010.

The meeting began with welcoming remarks from President Kondo Masaharu of the Japan Institute for Promoting Invention and Innovation (JIPII), followed by greetings from TWPAA President Chin. Subsequently, the TWPAA delivered a presentation detailing the current state of intellectual property in Taiwan and the wide range of activities conducted by their association.

In turn, an overview of the Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation (JIII) and the Japan Institute for Promoting Invention and Innovation (JIPII) was presented, covering the organization's history and key operations. The presentation particularly highlighted exchanges with Taiwan, focusing on the International Exhibition for Young Inventors (IEYI), which was held in Taiwan in 2024 and in Japan in 2025. During the discussion session, questions were raised regarding the association's business operations and organizational structure. Through this exchange, both organizations mutually confirmed their commitment to building a cooperative framework and continuously exchanging information moving forward.

Starting on Wednesday, September 16, the day following their visit, the TWPAA exhibited for the first time at the Intellectual Property Information Fair & Conference (held September 16–18). The booth enjoyed high visitor turnout and great success, which was a pleasure for us as the organizer.
