Visit by Brazilian Parliamentary Delegation

　On Tuesday, January 27, 2026, we welcomed a delegation of 13 members, including representatives from members of the Brazilian National Congress as well as the Brazilian NGO Instituto Brasileiro de Comércio Internacional, Investimento e Sustentabilidade (IBCIS). The visit was conducted as part of their research toward potential reforms of Brazil’s patent system

　At the Asia-Pacific Industrial Property Center (APIC), we provided an overview of the activities of the Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation (JIII) and the Japan Institute for Promoting Invention and Innovation (JIPII). With the permission of the Japan Patent Office (JPO), the delegation also observed the JPO/IPR Training Course on Patent Examination in Specific Technical Fields, one of the activities under the JPO Cooperation in Human Resource Development, which JIPII is commissioned by the JPO to implement.

　The delegation raised many insightful questions regarding our activities, and the meeting provided an active and meaningful opportunity to exchange views.
